“Throwing” Test of Ballistic Missile “Sarmat” Planned for 2015
“Throwing” test of ballistic missile “Sarmat” is scheduled for 2015.
“Throwing” tests of hundred-ton ballistic missile “Sarmat” are planned for this year, according to TASS quoted the Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov.
“This year we have planned the so-called throwing test. I think that we will finish the design and development work in accordance with the plans,” Borisov said on the air of Russian news service. The payload of rocket will be up to ten tons, the deputy minister said. Earlier it was reported that the new heavy liquid rocket will be created by 2020 and it will replace the currently existing rocket “Voevoda”.
The complex “Sarmat” is developed by a number of Russian defense enterprises, the parent organization is the State Rocket Center named after Academician V.P. Makeyev (Miass, Chelyabinsk region).
