Severnaya Verf to Construct Two Project 20380 Corvettes
The St. Petersburg-based Severnaya Verf shipyard plans to lay down two new Project 20380 corvettes in late February. This was announced by Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo, a spokesman of the Russian Defence Ministry for the Naval Forces.
“It is planned that the St. Petersburg-based Severnaya Verf shipyard will lay down two new Project 20380 corvettes for the Russian Navy in late February,” Mr. Dygalo said.
According to the information available, the new ships will be named the Retivy and the Strogy respectively.
It should be noted that the Baltic Fleet has already adopted four Project 20380 ships. Four corvettes are currently being built at the Severnaya Verf and Amur shipyards. The sailors of the Sovershenny corvette being constructed in the Far East have already arrived in St. Petersburg to undergo training.
