Rosatom Helps to Develop New Optics to Combat Terrorism
International team of scientists supported by the Foundation for Advanced Studies is developing a new generation of optical devices for the fight against terrorism. The work is carried out in the laboratory included in the state corporation “Rosatom” of Dukhov All-Russian Research Institute of Automatics, according to Foundation for Advanced Studies.
“According to the results of the project it will be manufactured sensors, sensitive to explosives and hazardous substances at the level of single molecules. These sensors can be used to prevent terrorist attacks in crowded areas in streaming mode,” was said in a statement.
Laboratory for development of a new generation of optical devices is created with the support of the Foundation for Advanced Studies on the basis of the Dukhov All-Russian Research Institute of Automatics. Today the laboratory employs more than 30 scientists taken from institutions of Russia and all the world – 15 research organizations are presented.
