Russia’s Irkutsk Aviation Plant has supplied the Russian Defence Ministry with another batch of five Yak-130 combat training aircraft. The planes are designed for the 200th air base of the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy in Armavir.

In accordance with the contract signed in December 2011, Irkutsk Aviation Plant shall supply the Russian Defence Ministry with 55 Yak-130 combat training aircraft before the end of 2015. In December 2013, the parties concluded two additional contracts on the delivery of 12 Yak-130s for the new aerobatic team and 10 Yak-130s for the naval aviation.

It should be noted that the Yak-130 combat training aircraft is designed for teaching, training, and maintaining the skills of fighter pilots. The greatest advantage of the Yak-130 consists in its complex control system that makes it possible to fly at high angles of attack and perform aerobatics with ease.
