Russia and Brazil to Sign Contract on Pantsir-S1 Supplies
Russia and Brazil are ready to conclude a contract for the supply of the Pantsir-S1 air defence systems and it could be signed in the first half of this year. This came in a statement by Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Antonio Jose Vallim Guerreiro.
“The negotiations are currently at the final stage,” Mr. Guerreiro said.
According to the information available, the potential arms deal includes three Pantsir-S1 batteries of up to 18 units.
It should be noted that the Pantsir-S1 air defence system was developed by the Tula Instrument Design Bureau. The complex is capable of continuously engaging targets at ranges of up to 20 kilometers and altitudes of up to 15 kilometers. The complex is designed for searching, detecting, identifying, capturing, tracking and engaging several targets from a stationary position or in motion both in manual and automatic modes.
