Russia’s EMD Receives New Tornado-G Systems
The troops of the Eastern Military District have received the latest Tornado-G multiple artillery rocket systems to replace the Grad systems. This was reported by Alexander Gordeev, a spokesperson for Russia’s Eastern Military District.
“About 20 new Tornado-G multiple artillery rocket systems have been adopted by the motorized rifle forces of the Eastern Military District to replace the Grad systems,” Mr. Gordeev said, adding that combat effectiveness of the new Tornado-G rocket system is 2.5-3 times greater than that of the Grad rocket system.
“Thanks to the higher power of munitions and a new automated targeting system, the Tornado-G considerably outperforms its predecessors in terms of tactical and technical characteristics,” the spokesman concluded.
The first practical firing exercises will be conducted in the first quarter of this year.
