EMD Soldiers Mastering Tor-M2U Missile Systems
Air defence units of the Eastern Military District’s motorized rifle divisions stationed in Khabarovsk Region have started mastering the new Tor-M2U antiaircraft missile systems delivered in late 2014. This information was furnished by the Eastern Military District’s press service.
“The soldiers have arrived at the Specialized Center of the Air Defence Forces in Krasnodar Region to practice loading launchers, as well as searching and detecting air targets. The first field firing exercises will be held at the Kapustin Yar range in spring,” the press center reported.
It should be noted that the Tor-M2U is an advanced surface-to-air missile system designed for defending key military and civilian facilities from attacks by aircraft, cruise and guided missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles. The Tor-M2U can simultaneously detect more than 40 targets while tracking and attacking four of them at once.
