Shvabe Presents New Production Equipment and Technology
Russia’s Shvabe Holding has developed a set of equipment and technology to produce large laser phosphate glass workpieces for active elements of laser systems. It took four years to create an innovative set of equipment and industrial technology designed for manufacturing large workpieces of laser phosphate glass. The unique invention combines two-stage technology of laser phosphate glass production in one glassmaking unit consisting of two electric furnaces.
“Russian enterprises have used several glassmaking units to produce laser phosphate glass. This process has been very expensive. The solution proposed by our experts significantly optimizes costs in the production of large active elements for high-power laser systems,” the company’s press center informed, adding that the specialists have also developed a new composition of laser phosphate glass with improved processing properties.
