Boeing to Continue Cooperating with VSMPO-AVISMA

2

The US Boeing Aircraft Corporation will continue implementing all the strategic partnership programs with the Russian industry. This came in a statement by Boeing Russia Vice President Sergey Kravchenko.

VSMPO-AVISMA produces semi-finished titanium parts for Boeing aircraft. VSMPO-AVISMA and Boeing started cooperating in 1993. At the moment, the Russian company provides Boeing with almost 40% of its titanium needs. In 2006, they signed an agreement to establish the Ural Boeing Manufacturing, a joint venture that processes titanium forgings. Total investment in the project amounted to $70 million.

“Of course, US corporations follow the recommendations of the Government. However, we are not prohibited to work with Rostec and we continue implementing all the strategic partnership programs. Rostec has always been our strategic partner,” Mr. Kravchenko stated.
