Russian Scientists Discuss U-3 Nuclear Reactor
The Krylov State Research Center held a working meeting on the directions for researching the U-3 nuclear reactor. The meeting was attended by leading experts of different organizations, including Rubin, Malakhit, Avrora, Atomenergo, Rostekhnadzor and many others.
The participants visited the U-3 reactor installation site, reactor hall, control unit and other places. Head of the Naval Power, Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department Vyacheslav Struev informed the guests about new opportunities for researching the reactor in the interests of enterprises and organizations of the shipbuilding industry.
In addition, the Krylov State Research Center and Rosatom’s Central Institute for Advanced Studies signed an agreement to train the personnel for working on the nuclear facilities based on the U-3 reactor.
It should be noted that the U-3 nuclear reactor is a unique facility that was used to solve many problems of the modern nuclear fleet.
