Naval Aviation to Receive Additional MiG-29K
The strengthening and development of naval aviation in 2015 will be effectuated by means of renovation and modernization of the fleet.
This was stated by Chief of Naval Aviation, Hero of Russia, Major-General Igor Kozhin. “This year we plan to supply MiG-29K aircrafts to the naval aviation. As a result, we will receive more than 20 MiG-29K, which will become the basis for the formation of a new aviation military unit in the Northern Fleet,” Major General Igor Kozhin said.
In addition, we will continue the work on receiving to naval aviation of the aircrafts based on the Il-38 with new anti-submarine complex on the board. Also we will effectuate the active modernization of the existing and well-established anti-submarine helicopters Ka-27PL. The machine will receive a new anti-submarine set and avionics.
