Russian Scientists Developing Materials for 3D Houses
The scientists of the Tver State Technical University have started working to create a new material for the construction of houses with the help of a 3D printer. This was stated by Prorector of the Tver State Technical University Vladimir Belov.
“We have just started our work to develop materials that will be suitable for the construction of a 3D house. It is a mixture based on water-resistant gypsum binder with glass fiber and solid waste (glass, polymers, paper, cardboard),” the official said, adding that this material will harden quickly after printing.
“If our development passes all the tests successfully, we will build a 3D wall fragment in 2016. As for the construction of 3D houses, we need a company interested in this innovation and related equipment. At the initial stage of the project, the new houses will cost more than those available in the market at the moment,” the scientist concluded.
