Russian Admirals Test New Simulator in St. Petersburg
The specialists of the Russian Navy’s High Command have tested a new simulator designed for evaluating the effectiveness of decisions made by fleet commanders. This statement was made by Navy Commander, Admiral Viktor Chirkov.
The commanders of Russia’s four fleets and the Caspian Flotilla, as well as heads of the fleet military administration are currently taking part in the meeting at the Naval Academy named after N. G. Kuznetsov in St. Petersburg.
“This simulator is capable of evaluating the effectiveness of decisions made by a fleet commander on the use of force and giving objective recommendations. This allows fleet commanders to see the strengths and weaknesses of their decisions on the use of force in the area of their responsibility and achieve greater effectiveness,” Mr. Chirkov said.
The Navy Commander also noted that the equipment had been designed by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the RAS upon request of the Russian Navy’s High Command.
