Engine for Rocket “Soyuz-2-1v” Successfully Passed Control Tests


The test complex of the enterprise “Kuznetsov” under the United Engine Corporation successfully held the acceptance tests of the engine NK-33 for the first stage of the Russian carrier rocket “Soyuz-2-1v”.

The fourth flight engine under the program “Soyuz-2-1v” worked at the stand for 40 seconds unconditionally. The product was tested for the first time with an improved combustion chamber, new start-up turbine and other details of construction, re-made in the process of serial production of NK-33. After the test, the engine will be prepared and send to the RSC “Progress”.

The first test launch of the newest light class booster “Soyuz-2-1v” with the engine NK-33 took place on December 28, 2013 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. The second missile launch is scheduled for 2015.
