Saratov Scientists Developing “Invisibility Cloak” for Soldiers of the Future

Saratov scientists develop camouflage for the soldiers of the future, enabling them to hide from electromagnetic radiation, according to the Foundation for Advanced Studies.

Foundation for Advanced Studies opened in Saratov State University the laboratories for production of nano shield and other materials for special purposes in November 2014. The laboratory will in the future develop and produce the armor based on nanofibers of Kevlar and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, the ultra-fine filtration system of air, gases and liquids, as well as fuel cells.

“In the field of “Masking”, Saratov scientists create advanced systems that will reduce the visibility of a soldier in various ranges of the electromagnetic radiation. Due to its fibrous structure, the materials are lightweight and have “breathable” properties, which will give an opportunity to include them in the uniforms for permanent wearing,” was said in a statement.
