KRET Identification System to Help “Soldiers of the Future” to Distinguish Friend from Foe
The concern “Radio-electronic technology” (KRET, part of the state corporation “Rostec”) is developing a system of identification on the battlefield for the equipment of “future soldier”, “Ratnik”. Such information was shared with reporters by the concern first deputy general director Igor Nasenkov, according to TASS.
“KRET designs for “Ratnik” a system of identification on the battlefield when the shooter can distinguish who is in view – friend or foe. If it is friend, then shot cannot be produced,” Nasenkov was quoted as saying.
“Ratnik” is positioned as a “kit of a soldier of the future”. The composition of equipment includes about 40 items, including weapons, sights, communications, navigation and targeting means. It is expected that this year the testing exploitation of this equipment will be ended.
