Disaster Warning System May Be Created in Crimea in 2015
Russian Emergency Situations Ministry does not rule out that the creation of the territory of Crimea of complex system of emergency notification of the population (KSEON) can already begin in 2015.
The notification problem received the special relevance after the tragedy in Kuban Krymsk, where in July 2012 as a result of the devastating floods about 170 people died. After this emergency, the Investigation Committee found that the warning system in Krymsk was practically absent, it was heard only by about fifty people and when it was too late.
“Main Directorate of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city must complete the design and begin to create a comprehensive system of emergency warning for the population,” was stated in the materials of the ministry.
