Ministry of Defence Reflects on Copyright for Military Inventions

Russian Defense Ministry for the first time begins to discuss protection of intellectual activity in the framework of defense orders and military-technical cooperation, Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov said on Wednesday during the All-Army Conference of inventors and innovators.

“The country’s leadership set the strategic course for the innovative development of the country. The Council created under the Federation Council on Intellectual Property is preparing to adopt the concept of intellectual property of the Russian Federation,” Popov said.

According to him, the Defense Ministry is also involved in the development of this concept.

“For the first time the Defense Ministry began implementing a set of measures to protect the rights of the Russian Federation on the results of intellectual activity, resulting in the performance of defense contracts in the framework of military-technical cooperation,” the deputy minister said.
