Russia to Create Unified Simulation System for Hypersonic Aircraft
Russia’s Foundation for Advanced Research Projects is creating a unified simulation system for developing hypersonic aircraft. The new equipment will incorporate domestic computational modules. This came in a statement by Deputy Director Vitaly Davydov.
“We should combine efforts of all the institutions and organizations working in this field. For this purpose, we have to create a central core, a unified integrated digital system that will combine data on all the developments. In our view, we should exclude the situations when someone has been successful in heat or aerodynamic calculations, but nobody can use them because they have no access to the data,” Mr. Davydov said, noting that the project will be aimed at creating a national library of programs for functional modeling of advanced hypersonic aircraft in the interests of all the concerned companies.
It’s worth noting that hypersonic aircraft will reach speeds of Mach 5 or greater.
