Russia’s Rosoboronexport is going to enter new markets in the Asia-Pacific Region, including Brunei and the Philippines. This came in a statement by Head of the Regional Department of Rosoboronexport Vladimir Ereschenko.
“We are on the point of developing cooperation with a number of countries in the Asia-Pacific Region. In particular, we would like to conquer markets of the Philippines and Brunei, expand cooperation with Thailand, intensify contacts with South Korea,” Mr. Ereschenko, who is in charge of the Russian delegation at the LIMA-2015 exhibition taking place in Malaysia, said.
The representative of Rosoboronexport also stressed that all these countries had traditionally relied on Western manufacturers.
“However, there are new opportunities that we will use,” Mr. Ereschenko concluded.
Russian Helicopters will demonstrate its latest developments at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, LIMA-2015, which will be held in Malaysia on March 17-21.
Russian Helicopters will showcase its multirole Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters. Together with Rosoboronexport, the company will also display Mi-35M, Mi-171Sh, and Mi-17V-5 helicopters for representatives of the law enforcement agencies of Malaysia and other countries of South East Asia.
“The countries in the Asia-Pacific Region are witnessing dynamic economic development. Demand for helicopters in the region is constantly growing. Our company is interested in this region and plans to expand its presence here. At LIMA-2015, we will showcase the latest Russian-made commercial helicopters that are most relevant to the countries across South East Asia. We see interest in these models among our potential partners, and hope to develop mutually beneficial cooperation,” Russian Helicopters CEO Alexander Mikheev stated.
Rosoboronexport will hold talks with defense ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh at exhibition LIMA-2015, the company’s CEO Anatoly Isaykin told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
“We plan to hold a series of meetings here, because on the eve it took place a meeting of defense ministers of ASEAN, and today they all attend the exhibition. We are planning to hold talks with defense ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, commanders in chief of a number of other countries of the region. We will have a very busy program,” Isaykin said.
According to him, Rosoboronexport hopes that the exhibition will be a good impetus to further increase the popularity of Russian military equipment in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Rosoboronexport” is in talks with Sri Lanka on the organization of a service center for helicopter maintenance and repair of armored vehicles, the head of the regional department of “Rosoboronexport” Vladimir Ereschenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Ereschenko heads a delegation of “Rosoboronexport” at LIMA-2015 opened on Tuesday in Langkawi (Malaysia).
“I note the expansion of cooperation with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Sri Lanka is currently being consulted on the organization of service center for helicopters and repair of armored vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles,” Ereschenko said.
With regard to Bangladesh, then, in his words, “we carry a large package of contracts for the supply of aircraft and armored vehicles.”
During the exhibition LIMA-2015, “Rosoboronexport” will present air defense systems for military and political leadership of Malaysia, the head of the regional department of “Rosoboronexport” Vladimir Ereschenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Perhaps, the Russian air defense systems are one of the most promising in the field of military-technical cooperation with Malaysia. Here the interest to the Russian air defense is really, really big, in particular to “Igla-S” and “Pantsir-S1” and “Buk-M2E”. In particular, during the exhibition LIMA it will be held an appropriate presentation for military and political leadership of this country,” Ereschenko said.
The unit of ships of the Pacific Fleet on Monday arrived on the Malay island of Langkawi for participation in the international exhibition of aerospace and naval equipment “LIMA – 2015”, the head of the press service of the Pacific Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Roman Martov told reporters on Monday.
After the visit on March 22, the Russian squadron of ships will continue to perform the task of further campaign in the Pacific Ocean.
“Today, the unit of ships of the Pacific Fleet including the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Panteleyev”, the tanker “Pechenga” and the tug “SB-522″ under the command of Captain First Rank Alexander Potapov performing the tasks of military service in the Pacific, arrived at the Malaysian island of Langkawi,” Martov said.
He added that during the six-day visit to the Pacific Fleet it will take part in the international exhibition of aerospace and naval equipment “LIMA – 2015”, the official opening ceremony is scheduled for March 17.
25 Russian companies will present their military products at the LIMA-2015 International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition in Malaysia. This was reported by the press center of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
“The Russian exposition will comprise stands of 29 Russian enterprises. 25 companies will demonstrate their military products, including JSC Rosoboronexport, JSC Russian Helicopters, JSC ODK, JSC Sukhoi, JSC RAC MiG and JSC Admiralty Shipyards,” the press center stated.
It’s worth noting that a total of 361 military products will be presented at the exhibition, including a specialized simulator STBP-29 and an interactive training system IASO-29 for the MiG-29SMT aircraft.
According to the information available, the Russian delegation will be headed by Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin. The exhibition will be attended by official delegations from 55 countries.
More than 1,000 industrial enterprises and organizations of the scientific and business sector of the Russian economy are expected to take part in the Army-2015 International Military-Technical Forum that will be held on June 16-19. This information was presented by the press center of the Russian Defence Ministry on Wednesday.
“About 5,000 new armaments samples developed by Russia’s defence industry complex will be presented at the Army-2015 International Military-Technical Forum. The event will feature weapons and military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces’ services and branches, drones, robotic systems, biotechnology, laser technology, radio-electronic technology, security of military facilities, medical care, new fuels, complex laboratories, training systems and simulators,” the press service reported.
It should be noted that the Russian Defence Ministry has already sent invitations to foreign military attaches accredited in Russia.
Russia’s Kalashnikov Concern will show its sporting and hunting weapons at the IWA OutdoorClassics international exhibition that will be held on March 6-9, 2015 in Nuremberg, Germany. This was reported by the company’s press service.
The delegation headed by Kalashnikov CEO Alexey Krivoruchko will hold a series of presentations and negotiations with potential customers. The company plans to demonstrate its newest Saiga carbines.
It’s necessary to point out that the Kalashnikov Concern was created in 2013 on the basis of the Izhmash and Izhmekh plants. It is now Russia’s largest producer of automatic and sniper combat arms, guided artillery shells as well as a wide range of civil products, including shotguns, sporting rifles, industrial machines and tools. Kalashnikov united a large number of state manufacturers of small arms weapons. The products manufactured by the company are supplied to more than 30 countries, including the UK, Germany and Norway.
The secret 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV howitzers were sent to Moscow to take part in a military parade. According to previous reports, the Ural Plant of Transport Engineering (Yekaterinburg) had to produce 12 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled howitzers in 2013-2014 to participate in the military parade on May 9, 2015.
It’s worth mentioning that the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV howitzer is a new Russian self-propelled howitzer. In 2013, two prototypes of the Koalitsiya self-propelled gun were manufactured to participate in the trials. There is also an option known as 2S35-1 Koalitsiya-SV-KSh. JSC KAMAZ published a picture of its wheeled variant based on the KAMAZ-6560 truck chassis on April 4, 2013. The prototype of the wheeled self-propelled gun is currently at the stage of manufacturing.
