Russia to Pay More Attention to Cyber Security Threats

The cyber security threats have become more sophisticated and have more serious consequences than before. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin at the Cyber Security Conference.

“This issue is very important and urgent. We are moving to the formation of a new armament program using smart weapons. Any modern device has software. The cyber security threats have three sources. The first is a more powerful country, the second is an opponent equal in strength, and the third is a weaker opponent,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister said, citing terrorist organizations as an example.

“We see that a lot of intellectuals are terrorists. They may turn against our country. The destruction of large industrial centers can lead to consequences comparable to the use of weapons of mass destruction,” Mr. Rogozin concluded.

Crisis and Sanctions are Suitable Soil for Development of Advanced Business

The economic crisis is an impetus for the development of advanced business.

For the past few years, Russia has developed a worldwide trend: international corporations such as IBM, Oracle, HP began working in Russia directly, refusing to system integrators as unnecessary middlemen. Because of the sanctions and the fall of the ruble, the dollar-based American IT-products have become unprofitable for Russian integrators. And besides, the customers are increasing their IT-department, attacking business integrators on the other hand.

Russian system integrators for several times overslept the opportunity to take a more strategic position in the food chain of the IT-market. Nowadays the crisis gives them another chance. System integrators need to actively invest in their own development, attract corporate venture capital investments, and absorb startups whose developments they can scale due to large customers.
