Russia Presents Mi-171A2 Helicopter with New Avionics

Russia has demonstrated the new Mi-171A2 civilian transport helicopter at the Paris Air Show for the first time. This information was furnished by a representative of Rostec State Corporation.

The new Mi-171A2, presented by the Russian Helicopters holding company, has a number of competitive advantages, including improved aircraft performance and operational characteristics, advanced power unit and transmission, as well as the latest suite of integrated KBO-17 avionics. The wide range of KBO-17 functions make the Mi-171A2 the most advanced Russian civilian helicopter with a significant export potential. Thanks to innovative solutions incorporated in the KBO-17 avionics, the Mi-171A2 helicopter can carry out missions under both favorable and adverse weather conditions.

It should be noted that the Mi-171A2 is equipped with automatic systems designed for avoiding and preventing collisions with external objects. In addition, Mi-171A2 has become the first certified helicopter in the Mi-171M range which includes modifications for forest protection, patrol, construction, loading and unloading operations, fire fighting, search and rescue operations, medical evacuation and other special tasks.
