Development of Su-47 “Berkut” to Continue

Air Force Commander, Colonel General Viktor Bondarev promised that the development of a prototype of fighter aircraft Su-47 will continue and the prototype will be soon demonstrated.

“It is not yet completed. Works have not been suspended, the theory is developed, I think that over time we will see the aircraft or its prototype,” Bondarev said, answering journalists’ questions about the prospects for the continuation of development of Soviet aircraft, including aircraft Su-47.

According to the Commander in Chief, the work on the Su-47 was a “huge step forward”, although this project is not finished.

“It is designed from the point of view of mathematics, showed excellent properties, but it has very complicated and time-consuming design. Aircraft with thrust vectoring even outperforms the Su-47,” the general said.
