Russian Navy to Receive New Generation Hydrographic Vessels

In 2015 the industrial enterprises will deliver two large hydrographic boats of the project 19920 to hydrographic service of the Russian Navy.

This was announced by the Head of Department of Navigation and Oceanography of the Ministry of Defense of Russia captain Sergey Travin.

The specifications of the boats are following:

displacement – 320 tons;

cruising range – 1,500 miles. The boats will be part of the Baltic and Pacific fleets.

“These large hydrographic boats are furnished with modern navigation and hydrographic equipment, allowing to perform highly accurate areal survey of bottom topography, maintain means of navigation equipment, deliver personnel, food, fuel and lubricants for lighthouses and signs on unequipped coast,” the captain Sergey Travin told.
